Dr. Raja Goli’s Biography
Hello, my name is Dr. Raja Goli.
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my professional website!
I am an Ophthalmologist - a medical doctor who specializes in surgeries and diseases involving the eyes and eyelids.
My family moved from India to the United States when I was a small child.
We lived in Ohio and Ontario, Canada for a few years while my father, Dr. Venkat Goli, completed his medical training.
I completed elementary school and I earned my high school diploma in a small coal-mining town in Southeastern Kentucky where my father practiced Urology for many years.
After high school, I earned my college Bachelor of Arts degree in Lexington, Kentucky at Transylvania University where I was a Biological Sciences major and I was on the Dean’s List for high academic achievement.
After college, I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree in Louisville, Kentucky at The University of Louisville School of Medicine where I received Honors.
After medical school, I completed a one-year Internship in Internal Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic Huron Hospital program.
I completed an entire three-year residency in Internal Medicine in Los Angeles, California at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and I was Board Certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine for ten years.
After completing my Internal Medicine residency, I worked for several years staffing emergency rooms, primary care clinics, and urgent treatment centers. I gained a lot of experience treating medical problems such as heart disease, cancer, neurological problems, and other serious medical conditions.
I became interested in Ophthalmology and I completed a one-year pre-residency Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology in Washington, D.C. at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. The A.F.I.P. was one of the top places in the world to study eye pathology. I was the primary author of a scientific article published in the journal; Ophthalmic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery, which was based on a project that I completed during that Fellowship.
I completed my three-year residency in Ophthalmology in Cincinnati, Ohio at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and I am currently Board Certified by The American Board of Ophthalmology and I participate in the ABO Maintenance of Certification program.
I am actually two doctors in one; an Internist as well as an Ophthalmologist - however - I currently limit my practice to Comprehensive Ophthalmology.
My major interests and skills in Ophthalmology include: cataract surgery with premium lenses, anterior segment surgery such as Pterygium excisions, medical and laser surgical management of the Glaucomas, Neuro-Ophthalmology, intravitreal injections, and minor Oculoplastics procedures.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, and traveling.
I am currently accepting new patients and I would be delighted to see you or someone you would like to refer to me for expert Ophthalmology care.
Thank you again for visiting my website!
